Rummage sale
LIVERMORE FALLS – A rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26, at the First Baptist Church. It is being sponsored by the American Baptist Women to benefit mission projects.
Spring yard sale
JAY – Daughters of Isabella will hold a spring yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at St. Rose Parish Hall.
Women to meet
WELD – Following a winter recess, the Western Mountain Women’s Connection, local branch of the Christian Women’s Club International, will meet Tuesday, May 6, at the Community Building.
The meeting will start at 10 a.m. with brunch and games. The inspirational speaker, Victoria Strong, Gold Star mother from Irasburg, Vt., will tell her life story.
The community room is in the post office building, Route 142. Reservations are essential. Call Betsey 563-8395 or Jane 778-4941. Cost is $6.
Shop is opening
JAY – The North Jay Methodist Parish House Thrift Shop, Route 17, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, May 2 through Nov. 8. For more information, call 645-4628.
Planning parade
LIVERMORE FALLS – A Memorial Day meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the American Legion Hall, 17 Reynolds Ave. Anyone who has input or suggestions for the parade is asked to attend the meeting or call Normand Chabot at 897-5003 or Diane Getz at 320-0103.
Veterans are encouraged to participate in the parade. American Legion Post 10, VFW Post 3335, Amvets Post 33 and the Sons of the Amvets will participate.
Veterans’ graves in the cemeteries will have flags on them before Memorial Day. Anyone in the community who would like to help flag the graves is asked to call.
Grange supper
JAY – A public supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the North Jay Grange 10. There will be baked beans, casseroles, salads, dessert and beverages for $6, adults; $3, children 10 and under. Raffle tickets for the restoration fundraiser will be available. A food and rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the North Jay Grange. A light luncheon will be available to purchase and takeout will be available.
A country music show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. that day at the grange with the Crosbys and friends. There will be door prizes, drawings and quilt tickets to purchase for fundraiser. Show tickets are $5 for adults and $3 age 10 and under. For more information, call 645-4628 or 645-2910.
