Paul Tremblay, left, and Dan Ouellette of the Lewiston Public Works Department board up the play ground at Kennedy Park at Park and Pine streets Tuesday. The playground was deemed unsafe for use and is being closed as a precaution. Tremblay said the playground will be demolished but first a team will have to check for any underground power lines. Several parks and playgrounds are located within walking distance of Kennedy Park. They include Cedar Street Park, Lincoln Street Playground, St. Mary’s Playground on Oxford Street, Marcotte Park tot lot, off Birch Street near the Colisee, Pierce Street Playground and Franklin Pasture Athletic Complex.
