AUBURN – The program for the Auburn Citizen of the Year celebration has been announced. This year’s recipient, Dick Gleason, will be either praised or roasted by Suzanne Goucher, president of the Maine Association of Broadcasters; Chip Morrison, president of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce; Connie Cote, former state lawmaker and host of The French Show on WEZR; and Tom Robustelli, former chair of the Chamber and humorist. Wit and wisdom will come from master of ceremonies, Art Boulay.

In tribute to Gleason’s support of the performing arts, The Maine Music Society will perform songs from its upcoming concert saluting George Gershwin and Cole Porter. (That concert is May 30 in South Paris and May 31 to Lewiston.)

The 35th annual Citizen of the Year event will be held Thursday, May 8, at Lost Valley with a social beginning at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the program to follow. The event is sponsored by the Auburn Business Association.

Advance reservations are required. Call Jason Longley at 782-0400 or e-mail him at [email protected]. Deadline is Wednesday, April 30. For more information, go to www.AuburnBA.com.
