AUBURN – Volunteers interested in raising awareness about child abuse will hold a community walk across the Longley Bridge on Friday night in recognition and support of April as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Anyone interested in joining the walk is invited to attend. Walkers, who are invited to bring their children, will gather at Festival Plaza at 6 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. walk across the bridge and back to the plaza. Organizer Mary Robinson said she expects the event, which will include guest speakers at the plaza, will last until 7:30 p.m.

Although Advocates for Children is not sponsoring the event, Robinson said any donations will be given to Advocates for Children/Healthy Families. FMI: 333-6910.
