It seems like every year a letter must be written to Auburn Public Works about cleanliness in Great Falls Plaza.

If you drive from the beautiful Veterans Park in Lewiston over the bridge into Auburn to watch the Great Falls flowing, and you are greeted by trash cans overflowing with garbage and debris blown all over the fence along the beautiful walk. People stop to eat their lunch and just sit out there. What a beautiful sight – all the trash thrown about in downtown Auburn. You would think the city would have more pride in its downtown areas. The hotel looks beautiful – no trash, and everything is picked up.

The least Auburn can do is empty the trash cans at least once or twice a week, or get rid of them so people will not put their trash into them.

I’ve written three letters about this now. It’s time the city put it on their to-do list.
