AUBURN – Since March, more than 600 of L-A’s middle, high school and adult education students have been reading and discussing the 1953 classic novel “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury as part of the Big Read: L-A.

In addition to book discussions, they have participated in a wide range of activities from attending the kick-off event that featured L-A firefighters and mayors saving books, to read-ins and poster exhibits.

Now, students will get to test their knowledge for fun and prizes at the Big Read’s Game Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Auburn Public Library.

L-A Arts director Andrew Harris will host the evening when students from Edward Little High School and Lewiston High School compete for prizes as they answer questions related to “Fahrenheit 451.”

The team that wins will receive a chauffeur-driven limousine ride and lunch at a Chinese restaurant.

The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Arts Midwest and Lewiston and Auburn public libraries and their community partners.
