BRUNSWICK – With more than 100 million copies of her books in print, Debbie Macomber is one of the leading voices in women’s fiction today with her novels regularly appearing on the best-seller lists.

Last fall, “74 Seaside Avenue,” the latest book in her Cedar Cove series, debuted simultaneously on The New York Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly lists – making Macomber (for one week) the best-selling author in America.

Macomber will sign copies of her books at Brunswick Bookland in the Cooks Corner Shopping Center at noon Sunday, May 18, and at noon Monday, May 19, at Borders at 430 Gorham Road in South Portland.

Equipped with just a high-school education and suffering from dyslexia, this busy mother of four young children wrote her first book on a rented typewriter at her kitchen table, moving it only for meals. Today, many meals and thousands of pages later, millions of women wait eagerly for her next book.

This May, Macomber will release “Twenty Wishes,” a Blossom Street book. This story of hope, renewal and inspiration follows the fortunes of a group of women who are brought together at a time of terrible loss in each of their lives. The friends bond together with a simple, but life-altering notion – that each must make a list of all the extraordinary things they hope to experience in their lives.

Also this spring, the new Knit Along with Debbie Macomber accessory line will go on sale in bookstores and craft stores nationwide. Proceeds are donated to charitable causes.
