JAY – Police are investigating a Sunday night or early Monday break-in at the Hillside Sports Club on Cross Street, located between Marcello and Jewell streets. It is the third burglary at the bar in three years.

It was a forced entry with an undisclosed amount of money taken, officer Russell Adams said. There was also damage done inside the building, he added.

Two other break-ins occurred at the club in 2007 and 2006.

In June 2007, forced entry was made into the building and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken, Chief Larry White Sr. had said back then.

On Oct. 7, 2006, the building was broken into and about $400 worth of alcohol was taken. Two suspects were charged in that case.
