JAY – Voters face no ballot contests for the town election on Tuesday, June 10, although write-in candidates could still surface.

Steve Barker is a candidate for the fourth selectman’s seat held by Chairman Bill Harlow, who is not seeking re-election.

Tom Goding returned nomination papers for the fifth selectman’s seat held by Selectman Rick Simoneau, who is also not running again.

Both terms are for three years.

School Committee incumbents Chairman Mary Redmond-Luce and Marga Hutchinson are seeking re-election for the two three-year terms available.

Greg Libby is a candidate for the Jay Village Water District trustee and Mark Nadeau is a candidate for the North Jay Water District trustee.

A hearing on the combined $16 million school and municipal budget is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Jay Middle School cafeteria.

Voting on the school budget will be held Monday, June 2, and at the polls on Tuesday, June 10. The municipal budget will be voted on Tuesday, June 10, at the polls.
