Circle anniversary

RUMFORD – St. Timothy Circle, Daughter of Isabella, will celebrate its 78th anniversary and Corporate Communion on Sunday, May 4, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Athanasius-St. John’s Church.

Class to meet

RUMFORD – The Mexico High School Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the Route 2 Diner in Rumford Center.

Benefit supper

RUMFORD – A benefit supper for Janna Dubois, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer, will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the Rumford Eagles.

Cost is $5 at the door for a spaghetti supper and entertainment from 7 to 11. There will be a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will be placed in the Elaine “Janna” Dubois fund to help with expenses. For more information, call 364-3876 or 357-2344.

Return from trip

DIXFIELD – Dirigo High School French teacher Jeannine Murray took her students to discover France and Italy on an educational tour during April vacation.

Murray will retire at the end of the school year, so this was her 12th and final tour as a student group leader. Thirty students and 18 adults accompanied her on the nine-day tour, which included destinations throughout Europe, including Paris, a day train ride near the Alps, Milan, Florence, Pisa and Rome and Vatican City.

The group departed for Boston by bus on April 20 and returned to Maine on April 28.
