TURNER – Police were sent to a South Livermore Road home Wednesday night after it was reported a dog had entered a chicken coop, killed several birds and then became stuck.

Police said a white husky got into the coop about 7 p.m. and was unable to get out. It was not immediately clear how many birds died or how they were killed.

Maine State Police went to the scene to try to remove the dog from chicken coop. They remained there late Wednesday and it was not immediately clear how the situation was resolved.

Police said the dog was known in the area and that it was not vicious or unfriendly with humans.
