JAY – Musician Barry Wood added to his collection of awards recently in Tennessee. Wood backed up the band Country Drifters and they took first place as vocal group and also earned the Rising Star Award for Traditional Country Group.

Wood also earned first place as Instrumentalist of the Year for the third time in three years.

In order to compete during Country Music Week at the North America Country Music Association’s international level, they had to first win in Maine.

“Maine really did make a good showing in Tennessee; they always do,” Wood said. “We have some great talent in Maine,” he added.

Wood also recently won other awards, including first places for Instrumentalist of the Year and Vocalist of the Year and second place for Male Entertainer of the Year.
