YARMOUTH (AP) – The Maine Green Independent Party will hold its annual state convention May 18 in Yarmouth, a gathering that will apportion delegates to the national Green Party convention in Chicago.

Jane Meisenbach, who chairs the state party, says Maine has the largest number of national delegates after California.

She said that makes Maine a critical state in determining the Greens’ presidential nominee.

The state convention will also include award presentations, introductions of local candidates and speeches by candidates for president.
