AUGUSTA – Some 2,149 college students are expected to graduate from Maine’s seven community colleges at commencement ceremonies around the state this month.

Speakers at this year’s commencement exercises, as well as the times, dates and locations are as follows:

Friday, May 9, 6 p.m.: Central Maine Community College, Auburn, 275 graduates; speaker, Edward A. Cormier, CEO, Harriman Architects and Engineers and chairman, CMCC Education Foundation board of directors; Colisee, Lewiston.

Friday, May 16, 11 a.m.: Washington County Community College, Calais, 160 graduates; speaker, Glenn Cummings, Speaker of the Maine State House of Representatives; Calais High School.

Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m.: Kennebec Valley Community College, Fairfield, 400 graduates; speaker, Sara Burns, president and CEO of Central Maine Power Co.; Augusta Civic Center.

Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m.: Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle, 175 graduates; speaker, TBA; NMCC gym.

Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m.: York County Community College, Wells, 104 graduates; speaker, Glen Cummings, YCCC campus.

Saturday, May 17, noon: Southern Maine Community College, South Portland, 685 graduates; speaker, Kevin Sweeney, chairman, SMCC English Department; Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland.

Saturday, May 17, 1 p.m.: Eastern Maine Community College, Bangor, 350 graduates; speaker, Thomas Swieczkowski, EMCC’s 2008 Student of the Year; Bangor Auditorium.
