NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital registered nurse Jo Elliott attended the Reception and Tea at the Blaine House in Augusta on Wednesday, May 7. The event honored nurses during National Nurses Week.

Elliott has been employed in the hospital medical/surgical department for three years. She attended Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing and is pursuing her bachelor of science in nursing at USM. Elliott recently attained a Clinical Level III status.

She was nominated to attend the tea by her peers and nursing managers for her involvement at the hospital. Elliott is a member of the Blood Glucose Improvement Committee as well as several nursing councils that are part of the shared governance system recently adopted by nursing.

The theme of National Nurses Week this year is “Nurses: Making a Difference Everyday.” The keynote speaker will be Linda Zimmerman, RN.
