TURNER – Jonnie L. Jordan, upon her return from Iraq, presented Turner Memorial Post 111, American Legion, an American Flag that was flown over the 557th ERHS compound.

A certificate accompanying the flag reads: “557th Expeditionary Red Horse Squadron, United States Air Force, This is to certify that this flag was flown over the 557th ERHS compound, COB Speicher, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Proudly Recognizing American Legion Turner Memorial Post 111.

“Let it be known that this flag represents the American resolve following the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, and bears witness to the destruction of terrorist forces threatening the freedom of the United States of America and the world.

“On this 16th day of February of the year 2008, Red Horse, lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. Signed by USAF, Major Robert S. Grainger and USAF CMSergeant Michael C. Garrou.”

American Legion Commander Warren K. Clark accepted the flag and certificate on behalf of the post.
