RANGELEY – Angela White pitched two solid games while her teammates brought out the hot bats as Rangeley swept an afternoon softball doubleheader with Windham Christian. The Lakers (3-4) took Game 1 by a 16-4 margin, powered by the home runs of Karisa Allen and a Grand Slam by White. Allen led the squad with three hits, while White tallied two hits with four RBIs.

In the nightcap, Rangeley continued the pounding with a 15-3 win. White gave up just two hits, while Samantha Olivieri and Krista Jamison belted RBI home runs in the first and second innings respectively. Allen also had a solo shot in a home-run filled afternoon for Rangeley.

Gray-NG 16, Traip 0

GRAY – Laura Getchell tossed a no-hitter, facing one more batter than the minimum for five innings in Gray-New Gloucester’s 16-0 victory over Traip on Thursday.

Getchell struck out nine and walked one. The Patriots (4-2) took full advantage of multiple walks, wild pitches and five Traip errors. Gray-NG only needed four singles by Kassie Wilson, Alicia Valente, Brittany Adell and Gianna Oddi.

Lacrosse

Oxford Hills 9, Cony 8

AUGUSTA – Lauren Brett scored the game-winner late in the game to lead Oxford Hills to a 9-8 come-from-behind victory over Cony.

The Vikings (5-1) trailed 6-5 at the half before fighting back to tie the game at 8-8 to set up Brett’s heroics. Jessica Smith, Brooke Mason and Heather Knight all scored two goals for Oxford Hills.

Naomi Miller led Cony (4-2) with three goals, while Cassie Diplock and Kelly Parker added two each.

Cony 13, Edward Little 7

AUBURN – Holly Parker sparked a seven-goal explosion in the second half as Cony hustled to a 13-7 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC girl’s lacrosse matchup.

Macy Pagurko, Paige Farrah, Naomi Miller and Cassie Diplock chipped in for the Rams (4-1) with two goals each, while Jessica Lucas also tallied to complete the scoring. Julia Bush made nine saves in net to notch the win.

The Red Eddies (3-2) were paced by Kirsten Prue with six goals, while Kate Williamson filled out the final tally. Liz Barclay turned aside 13 shots between the posts for EL.
