I believe that people get what they elect.

The Democrats have enacted a tax which will increase the price for beverages. They promised “no new taxes.” That will hit our pocketbooks later this year.

The Democrats continue to protect and fund a failed health insurance program, “Dirigo,” which is expensive and has never done what it was designed to do. Does pride of ownership prevent them from admitting failure? Additionally, they won’t agree to change our health insurance regulations so we can enjoy the same reduced costs that other states do. Why?

Instead, they added a new tax on health insurance claims which will be passed on to the people.

The Democrats continue to provide a sanctuary for illegal alien lawbreakers (the soft name is “undocumented immigrants”), and resisted changing driver’s license requirements.

The Democrats continue to allow a debt of billions of dollars to state employees and teachers’ retirement and medical plans. There is a deadline approaching to repay this money. Watch our pocketbooks.

The Democrats tried to destroy OPEGA, the watchdog organization over government, when it was revealed that OPEGA would audit certain organizations.

If people like this situation, they should re-elect the Democrats.

If people believe Democrats are not guiding Maine properly, they should vote for Republican legislators with common sense values. Households or businesses cannot be run the way Democrats run state government.

Democrats campaign with one set of promises, and then vote and act entirely differently. People should check voting records.
