Dear Sun Spots: I wanted to write and thank your readers for sending me their Box Tops for Education for Turner Elementary School. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We collected $1,329 in box tops this year. If anyone has any that they can donate we are still collecting them. They may be mailed to me, Laurie Labbe, 5 Brookfield Est., Turner, Maine 04282. – Laurie Labbe, Turner.
Dear Sun Spots: I try to read your column every day, and I’m hoping you or your readers can help me now. Several years ago I hired a gentleman named Appleby (first name Dave, I think) to jack up my garage/shed. I found him in one of the “services offered” ads in the Sun Journal. He did a great job, and I would like to hire him again as I’ve had a mishap involving my truck and the shed. The shed lost. However, I’ve lost his number. If anyone knows him, or someone else who does garage jacking for a reasonable price, please call Melanie in Lewiston at 783-7447. Any word yet on the reopening of Bagels & Things? Thanks. – Melanie, Lewiston.
Answer: Sun Spots attempted to contact Dave Appleby and, unfortunately, his telephone number is no longer in service. We are not aware of any local person who offers this service, so hopefully one of our readers will be able to assist you. In response to your second request, in an earlier Sun Spots inquiry from April 5, we learned that the former Bagels and Things building has been sold. According to the owner of Bagels & Things, Mike Rossignol, the restaurant is planning to reopen but he is unable to say when or where at this time. We will continue to keep you informed, as this is a favorite breakfast spot for many of our readers!
Dear Sun Spots: I purchased a magicJack and would like to return it. I have mislaid the mailing address and their telephone number. Their e-mail is [email protected]. I have tried that and they told me to try their voice mail which doesn’t seem to be working for me. I would appreciate anything you can do for us in getting their phone number and mailing address. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: According to a representative for Dan Borislow, inventor of the magicJack, they do not have a customer service hot line at this time. They provide an online processing service 24 hours a day and 7 days a week at www.magicjack.com. The mailing address is given to the customer upon processing a return online. They do thank you for your concern. To process a return on the Web site, you will need to provide them with two of the following things: order number, tracking number, credit card number or order e-mail address. You will then be given a RMA (return merchandise authorization) number, which will be used in the return process.
Dear Sun Spots: In the Gardener’s Supply Catalog there are four ways to rid your lawn of moles. The phone no. is 1-800-427-3363 or the Web site is www.gardeners.com. I have ordered from it in the past and its products are good. Keep up your good work. – No Name, No Town.
