MONMOUTH – George A. Pease and Martha F. Stevens Pease were honored at a surprise 50th anniversary party on April 12 at the Baptist Church of Greene. The party was organized and planned by her sister, Judy Lyons, and the couple’s son and his wife, Randy and Rose Pease, the couple’s daughter, Tammy, and his sister, Roxanne Prosenno.

They were married in Lewiston on Feb. 1, 1958. All six of their children and nine grandchildren, along with two step-grandsons, were present.

On their arrival, they received a corsage and boutonniere. The guest book was circulated by a granddaughter, Tiffany Pease. More than 82 family members and friends attended the party. After a buffet luncheon, the couple cut the cake and fed each other the first bite.

The couple received some personalized gifts and also gifts of money to be used for a planned trip to Missouri to visit family in May. The afternoon was spent viewing displayed pictures of the couple with family and friends on their many excursions and camping trips. Socializing and stories were enjoyed by all.

People attended from Monmouth, Winthrop, Manchester, Augusta, Belgrade, Albion, Norridgewock, Mount Vernon, Topsham, Freeport, Greene, Leeds, Sabattus, Lewiston, Auburn and Laconia, N.H.

Cards were received from those unable to attend.
