Awards are made at grange meeting
TURNER – Excelsior Pomona 1 met at Turner Grange recently with the Committee on Women’s Activities in charge of the program.
A meal was served before the meeting.
The entries for the whoopie pie contest were judged by Dan and Holly Steven’s of Wales. There was one entry in the rnen’s division and six in the women’s category.
The winners were William Hatch of Danville Grange and Carolyn Gauthier of West Minot Grange. Both went to State Grange on May 3.
State Steward Harold Parsons had the assistants escort Karen Flagg to the altar where he presented her with the Pink Sash, which represents her position on Maine State Grange CWA Committee.
Parsons said he was proud to make the presentation as many of the Women’s Activities Committees have helped sustain Grange and given donations to many causes throughout the state.
