KINGFIELD – Tickets for the annual Kingfield POPS concert are now on sale. Now in its sixth year, the summer music festival, which will take place on Saturday, June 28, will showcase some of the most popular musical talent from the past five concerts.
Greeting the guests as they charge through the gates will be the Western Mountain Steel Drum Band. The evening will kick off with the Kingfield Chorus singing several patriotic songs in an annual tribute to the Fourth of July.
Then Nadia and Jocko, Jeff Beedy’s band, will play acoustical blues and original soul. The Edith Jones Project, an all-women’s big jazz band, will return. The Bangor Symphony Orchestra’s Brass and Percussion Ensembles will then lead to the Kruger Brothers, who play a variety of blues, acoustic and bluegrass music.
Kingfield POPS will also feature an instrument petting zoo, clowns, family activities and food. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., artists and artisans will display their creations and musicians will perform outdoors at a Festival of the Arts in the village.
The concert gates will open at 4 p.m. and the evening will close with a fireworks finale.
Tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the gate) for adults, and free for youths under the age of 17 who are accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at Camden National Bank branches in Farmington, Kingfield, Stratton, Phillips and Rangeley.
In Kingfield, they can also be purchased at Grand Central Station and Tranten’s Grocery Store; in Farmington, Mickey’s Hallmark and at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. Shoppers can also order tickets on the POPS Web site at www.kingfieldpops.com.
