AUBURN – The board of directors of the Androscoggin Land Trust announces the hiring of Jonathan P. LaBonte as executive director.

A native of Auburn, LaBonte is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in chemical engineering, and has conducted graduate research in urban and regional planning and policy. He most recently served as assistant government relations manager for the Maine Turnpike Authority. He also serves on several boards and committees, including the Auburn Comprehensive Plan Update Committee, Maine Trail Advisory Committee, Maine Land Trust Network Steering Committee, and the UMaine Alumni Association Board.

He recently co-chaired the Bates Mill 5 Task Force, and is the incoming chair of YPLAA, the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce’s young professionals group. For more information about the Androscoggin Land Trust, go to www.androscogginlandtrust.org.
