LEWISTON – The Jesus Party Pentecostal Kids’ Church participated in the 2008 National Day of Prayer recently.

The Rev. Richard Bolduc, director of Extended Hand Ministries, gave the invocation and led the 40 young members of the congregation into prayer for the national, state and local government. Patriotic mentor, Jerry DerBoghosian, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and ministry director, Sonia Taylor, sang “God Bless the USA”

The next patriotic observance for the Jesus Party will be Armed Forces Day, at 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, at 291 Bates St. Everyone in attendance will receive toy army soldiers and yellow ribbons as a reminder to keep the troops in their prayers.
