NORTH TURNER – Members of the North Turner Presbyterian Church will hold a Tasting Supper in celebration of their new cookbook, “Blissful Bread and Other Sustenance,” on Friday, May 23, at the GAR Hall, Route 219.

Parishioners will make appetizers, salads, vegetables, main dishes, desserts and bread from the recipes in the new cookbook. There will be cookbooks on sale for $12 each at the supper or call 224-7913, 225-3370 or 779-6658 to get one ahead of time. There are a limited number of copies. In addition to almost 200 recipes, one of which is called “Punk’s Revenge” by Selectman Punk House, there is a history of the 133-year-old congregation, and the recipe notes will surprise readers when they learn where many of them came from. The supper begins at 5 and goes until 7 p.m. and a free will donation will be taken.
