CAP squadron holds emergency training
AUBURN – The Civil Air Patrol’s Auburn/Lewiston Squadron recently held a training session as part of the emergency service program, at the Auburn/Lewiston Airport.
Cadets and seniors were taught the proper way to use a certain receiver, a device used to locate an emergency locator transmitter, which sends off a signal if the plane crashes. ELTs can be found in every aircraft in the United States.
The CAP members are training to become part of the urban direction team for the squadron. It is another role the Civil Air Patrol plays in performing rescue missions, disaster relief and other catastrophes.
