A spokesperson at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center at 145 Birch St. gave us a lot of helpful information. They gather daily for activities such as bingo, crafts, bridge and other card games. They also take at least one trip per month. Contact them at 784-2926, ext. 207.

The First Auburn Senior Citizens membership chairwoman Patricia Edwards says that all seniors are welcome to attend their meetings at 11 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. For more information contact Patricia at 783-0250.

Dear Sun Spots: Thanks so much to you and Evelyn Norton for the story about Lucky Lindy. Sounds like Avon had a cool school system even back then. Tom Bulger, Avon.

Dear Sun Spots: The Lewiston Veteran Center has World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and Afghanistan/Iraq War memorabilia exhibits which are enjoyed by all the veterans we serve. We continue to seek donations of military items, which would be put in the exhibits for everyone to enjoy. Some items may be exhibited at the Maine Military Museum. If possible a brief story on your donated items would be appreciated as to who, what, when and how it was obtained. For more information please call Bill Malay at 783-0068. Thank you in advance. – Bill Malay, Lewiston.
