SABATTUS – Rita Vachon of Sabattus is pleased to announce the engagement of her son, Chad Higgins of Boston, to Alexandra Roberts of Portsmouth, N.H., daughter of Sanford and Helaine Roberts of Portsmouth, N.H.

Mr. Higgins is the son of the late William D. Higgins. He graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1993, Colby College in 1997 and received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., in 2003. He currently practices at the firm of Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston.

Miss Roberts graduated from Berwick Academy in South Berwick in 1998 and received her bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., and plans to receive both her MBA and master’s degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in May.

The wedding will take place Aug. 31 at Wentworth by the Sea Country Club in Rye, N.H.
