AUBURN – Pioneer Management Association has awarded scholarships to two children of employees.

PMA President Timothy Talarico said scholarships of $250 each were presented. Jon Lachance of Auburn is enrolled at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. Alex Marquis of Greene is enrolled at the University of Maine in Orono.

Each applicant had to be enrolled in a two- or four-year undergraduate degree program and be a dependent child of a full-time Auburn Pionite employee. Applicants were also asked to write a 150-word essay on what they plan to do with their college education.

The board of directors chose two winners.

Pioneer Plastics has been in Auburn since 1965 and employs approximately 400 people. It has been in business for more than 50 years.
