May 6 through 12 is designated National Nurses Week every year. Rumford Hospital celebrated its nurses with a variety of special meals, a tea for retired nurses and corsages for nurses. The activity that brought the most smiles must have been the “Wear Your Whites” initiative. Several nurses arrived for work in full dress, right down to the cape. These three were the first to appear on the first morning of Nurses Week, from left, Joette Carlton, birthing center nurse manager; Robin Gilbert, emergency department manager; and Karen Cole, ED coordinator.
