WEST PARIS – Plans are under way for the opening race of the West Paris Down Hill Derby. The committee met April 14 to discuss plans and improvements for the 2008 season.

The construction of an equipment building was approved by the committee, and donations of materials are needed to get that project under way. The committee consists of Katie Collette, president; Lisa Henderson, treasurer/secretary; and Jason Henderson, vice president.

Donations of trophies are also needed to reward the youngsters participating in the race season. Any trophies that people may have will be accepted and adapted to reflect the Down Hill Derby.

The first race of the season will be held on Sunday, June 15, during the West Paris Old Home Days. For more information or to donate materials and/or trophies, call Katie at 890-1174.
