Gov. John Baldacci and the Maine Legislature promised to not raise taxes, but now they have targeted alcohol and soda, just to help keep the Dirigo insurance program going.
Maine has millions of dollars in the rainy day fund, and that money should be used to fix Maine’s side roads and help fund the schools. Enough is enough.
I believe the people of Maine are fed up with the tax increases and having their rights go out the door.
The public should stop Gov. Baldacci and the Democrats with the new taxes. The taxes could hurt businesses.
I’m in favor of the people’s veto.
