Buckfield at Richmond, 4 p.m.

The Bobcats won the first go-around, 3-1, but it was the Bucks first outing of the season. Buckfield should be a little sharper and ready for top-ranked Richmond, a team the defending Class D state champs will likely see in the postseason.

Lewiston at Cony 4 p.m.

The Blue Devils got pounded by the Rams earlier in the year. Lewiston is playing well and chasing the Rams in the standings. A strong showing by the Blue Devils might bode well for their tournament hopes.

Tuesday, May 27

Monmouth at Hall-Dale, 4:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs have been one of the most improved squads in the MVC and were ranked sixth in the last Western C standings. Monmouth was right behind them and is looking to boost its standing in the final weeks of the season.

St. Dom’s at Poland, 4 p.m.

Poland is in the hunt for a playoff spot and have beaten some tournament contending teams. The Saints are among the top clubs in Western C. The Knights and Saints usually have a good rivalry, and there’s plenty of Heal Points at stake for either.

Lewiston at Edward Little, 7 p.m.

The Red Eddies have had many near misses this season, including a 5-4 loss to Lewiston. EL is battling for a playoff spot and knows a win over Lewiston could aid that effort.

Wednesday, May 28, 4:15 p.m.

Oak Hill at Maranacook, 4:15

The Raiders won the first battle between these two rivals, 4-0, handing the Black Bears their first loss of the year. Both are jockeying for playoff position in Western B.

Player of the week

Sam Morency, Lewiston

The senior shorstop helped the Blue Devils to three wins last week. She had three hits and three RBI in a 7-2 win over Brunswick. Her hot bat continued against Morse. She had two hits, including a sixth-inning two-run homer that lifted Lewiston to the 8-7 win. Against Oxford Hills, she had a hit and scored a run and was outstanding in the field in a 5-1 win.
