Please! Your very existence is taxing enough!

There are several content errors in “Tax it, tax it, tax it,” (letter, May 22) and as a concerned citizen, it is my duty to to rectify those blunders.

The question was posed, “What is the problem?” The solution to this quandary is simple: Society, in general, needs another drink. Only at that point can it be realized that when consumed, alcohol is not a killer. I have yet to sample the libation that took arms against me. What a wily beverage that would be! If a reader can find the sneaky glass of wine, full of wit and flavor, that is capable of murdering me, I implore, please tax it!

OK, so that was the practiced answer to the presented question. The real answer is people are stupid.

People are killers. People destroy families, commit violent acts, and destroy their health. People get drunk and drive, not bottles of beer. People need to be held accountable for the choices they make. The effect of stupid people on the general population stings sometimes, but please, let’s not relocate blame because those beloved family members can’t control themselves.

Truth be told, that wasn’t the answer, either. Honestly, my day is full of stupid people making stupid choices and saying stupid things. Don’t tax my alcohol. My weeks are long enough and if you take away my spiritous breaks from the exposure I’m not sure what I’ll do. Please!

Your existence is taxing enough!
