PORTLAND (AP) – As Maine Democrats prepare for this weekend’s state convention in Augusta, the party has come out with a new logo and slogan.

The new slogan, unveiled yesterday, is “Change starts with me in Maine.” The redesigned blue-and-green logo features a backward “e” in the word Democratic, which party officials say is intended to showcase the fact that change begins with everyone. A party official said the campaign is printing brochures, bumper stickers and other election items that will include the new logo.

Party officials say the logo and slogan will be highly visible at the convention, which is expected to draw some 3,000 delegates.
