PARIS – The Child Health Center’s annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake in Oxford Hills raised more than $12,000 in sponsorship funds and more than $5,000 in bowler funds this year to support the center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program in the Oxford Hills community.

More than 28 businesses supported the Oxford Hills event monetarily and donated gifts and prizes.

The top team was one of the three New Balance Manufacturing teams. Their team captain was Jason Nay and members were Reggie Allen, Dwane Millett and Beth Frisbee. Each received a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of his choice.

Top bowlers were Diane Jack from Keiser, first, who received a $250 gift certificate from a local retail store as the largest fundraiser; Scott Turner, with Maine Machine, second, $150 in oil, which he requested be donated to his mother, Evelyn; Tina Gilliam, third, $75 gas card.

Each year bowlers are eligible to receive one raffle ticket for every $100 they raise. The raffle ticket is for one large item that, for the past three years has been a 42-inch flat screen TV. It was won by Mike Bolduc, a first-time bowler with the East Energy team.
