Threshold To Maine Resource Conservation and Development
The program helps provide information, education, and support to community residents in York, Cumberland, Oxford, and Franklin Counties, enabling them to solve natural resource problems. Programs are locally initiated, sponsored, and directed. Residents work to improve their communities through sound resource management accelerated economic development and improvements in the standard of living where adverse conditions exist.
This work is primarily coordinated through projects adopted by the RC&D Council. Recent projects include helping communities address issues related to the Northern Forest region, developing an Agriculture Business Incubator, establishing an Agriculture Commission in the River Valley region, assisting businesses in Strong organize a Business Alliance, and helping communities with establishing commercial kitchen facilities. Other assistance includes facilitating meetings for local community groups and helping organizations develop their strategic plans.
