LIVERMORE FALLS – A former Livermore Falls man has been indicted by an Androscoggin County grand jury on two counts of gross sexual assault against two young girls in October 2007.
Robert Davis, 67, previously lived in an apartment complex on Park Street but has moved out of town, Lt. Thomas Gould said.
When police began an investigation on the reported sexual assault of two girls under age 14 last year, Davis fled the area, Gould said.
He was subsequently arrested in New Hampshire on a drug charge and released on bail before Livermore Falls police could obtain a warrant for his arrest on the sex charges, Gould said.
Police continued their investigation into the case, and Davis was indicted June 5, Gould said.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest, he said.
