Flag ceremony

MONMOUTH – Flag Day will be observed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Monmouth Museum grounds, 749 Main St. A flag ceremony will take place from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Dedication of the Cobbler Shop will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon in memory of H. Earle Flanders. There will be hot dogs, beverages and baked goods for sale

The museum will be open with special displays.

Lodge activities

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, in the activities room at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane, for the last business meeting before summer recess.

Second nomination of officers will take place.

All members who wish should be at Gipper’s, Center Street, at 5:30 p.m. for the annual “Go Out To Eat” social time, then caravan to the meeting.

Summer activities include an outing at the Thorpe family cottage and grounds on Tripp Lake, West Poland, on June 11; Camp NEOFA picnic/barbecue at noon Sunday, July 20, at the campground in Montville; third annual golf scramble in Auburn on Saturday, June 21; and a barbecue at noon Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home preceded by an auction at 10 a.m.

Meetings will resume on Monday, Sept. 15.

Open house set

NEW GLOUCESTER – Fiddlehead Center for the Arts, 25 Shaker Road, holds summer camp for ages 3 to 14 to learn, play and become inspired in the arts and sciences.

An open house will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, and enter to win a free summer camp class.

Distribution day

AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve, a part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will hold Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner St., at the Whitney St. entrance.

Ham radio

AUBURN – The Androscoggin Amateur Radio Club invites all ham radio operators and the public to its annual Field Day from 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at the Park Avenue School.

Hams learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions, developing skills to meet the challenges of emergency preparedness as well as to acquaint the public with the capabilities of amateur radio.

This is a chance for the public to become familiar with ham radio and get on the air. For more information, call Cory Golob at 514-0202.

Strawberry Festival

POLAND – The Poland Community Church will celebrate its annual Strawberry Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Poland Spring Resort Inn, Route 26, Poland Spring. If rainy, the festival will be held inside.
