AUGUSTA (AP) – State election officials have scheduled a recount next week for a Democratic House primary contest which, according to unofficial tabulations, ended in a tie.

If the tie is not resolved, the secretary of state will draw lots to determine the winner, who would face Republican Brian Bicknell in November’s general election.

The recount is slated for Thursday, June 19, at 9 a.m. at the headquarters of the state Department of Public Safety on Commerce Drive in Augusta.
