PARIS – Oxford County commissioners approved $7,185 Tuesday for roof repairs at the Oxford County Regional Airport.

Commissioners accepted a bid from IRC Roof Management Services of Lewiston to seal the seams and fasteners of the airport facility’s roof as well as refasten panels to provide a compression seal. The estimate was considerably less than other companies’ because it did not include the replacement of a rubberized membrane.

In a letter to the county, Rick St. Hilaire of IRC stated that leaks in the roof were caused by an improperly installed heat trace system and defective eave closure. St. Hilaire states that further leaks were caused by damage when snow and ice were removed.

Gladu Roofing Co. of Lewiston bid $19,887 for the project, Maida Construction of Minot bid $31,800, and Hahnel Bros. Co. of Lewiston bid $36,240.

Earlier this month, commissioners approved $13,250 for the removal of underground piping at the airport and $2,800 for the removal of mold on the facility’s walls.
