Verso Paper announces volunteer service awards
JAY – Verso Paper Corp. has announced that three employees of its Androscoggin Mill are among 12 recipients of the 2008 Verso Volunteer Service Awards. They are Cindy Bennett, for her work with the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project; Kathi Kyes, for her work with the Mountain Viewers 4-H Club; and Mary Walker for her work with the Winthrop High School Alpine Ski Team.
“Verso’s community involvement is driven by our employee volunteers, who contribute thousands of hours each year in various company-sponsored and individual efforts to enhance the quality of life for our neighbors,” said Mill Manager Dick Jackson. “We’re extremely proud of Cindy, Kathi, Mary and all our employee volunteers for their dedicated service to our community.”
Each award recipient receives a certificate of appreciation from Verso CEO Mike Jackson and gift to thank them for their community service. The organizations where they volunteer receive a cash contribution.
