LEWISTON – At the June 3 Lewiston City Council meeting, five outgoing senior members of the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council were recognized for their years of service: Jeff Lewandowski (2008); Hossain Naji (2004-2008); Jenni Golletti (2004-2008); Ashley Morgan (2004-2008); and Sara Fabrizio, who was absent, (2006-2008).

In addition to Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert Sr., City Council Liaison to LYAC Denis Theriault and Co-Advisers Dottie Perham-Whittier and Maggie Chisholm, former City Councilor Norm Rousseau, who served as the group’s liaison for five years, were also on hand to thank the youth for their service.

Bios were read about each senior, and certificates of appreciation were presented. In addition, local resident Jeanne Raymond was a surprise audience member, and in appreciation of all the contributions of LYAC, she presented each outgoing senior with a package of fudge.

In the fall, Lewandowski will attend the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.; Naji will attend Columbia University in New York City; Golletti will attend the University of New Hampshire; and Morgan will attend Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore.
