Avoid a victim mentality. Plan ahead. Be aware of your surrounding environment. Walk with others. Stay in well-lit areas, avoid alleyways, and deserted lots. Many people get into trouble because they aren’t paying attention.
Trust your inner senses. Human beings have the ability to detect when something is wrong if they acknowledge the credibility of their own senses. If you sense something is wrong, it probably is wrong.
When walking to your car, keep keys at the ready. They can be useful as a weapon when necessary.
If you find yourself in a life-threatening situation with an attacker, NEVER GIVE UP. You have the capacity to use your own body as a weapon. Fight. Fight for your life.
