On June 13, I was in respiratory distress. My husband called 911, and got a busy signal. He dialed again, and again got a busy signal. My son’s fiancee dialed 911 and got a recording that all agents were currently busy. (Now I am not only in distress, I am starting to hyperventilate…wonder why?)

Finally, we got through to 911.

My concern, however, is that time is of the essence in an emergency, and while it may not seem like a long time to be waiting, try breathing through a straw, and you will be able to see the problem.

Where are the powers that be that should be on top of the problem with 911? It is not an isolated one – it has been happening in various parts of the state.

I just hope that it will not take a catastrophe before this problem is fixed.
