AUBURN – A string of pageants in the last year and after nearly 16 years, seasoned competitor Corrie-Marie Bernatchez will finish out her last year of pageants.
Over the last year Bernatchez competed at the Jewel of New England pageant in Rhode Island, winning the age division supreme, glitz photogenic and the casual wear event. Competing at the new NES Natural, Elegant and Simple Pageant in Portland, she won the junior teen supreme title, casual wear, swim wear events and best eyes.
Next was America’s Regel Gems where she won the sapphire supreme, high point beauty and high point model. Next in line was the Elite Royalty Pageant where she won the elite teen queen title along with swimwear, outfit of choice, glitz photo, black/white photo, tied for portfolio photo and also winning best hair, eyes, smile and best dressed.
Competing in the NES National Natural, Elegant and Simple Pageant in Enfield Conn., she won the teen supreme title, best hair, best eyes, best dressed, natural photo, natural black/white photo and portfolio photo. She recently won the Genuine Girl Mini Supreme Photo Contest for a natural head shot.
The final pageant of her 16-year career will be America’s Genuine Girl being held in Connecticut in October. She will compete in beauty, outfit of choice, cruise wear and the off-stage events of natural photo, glitz photo, composite and portfolio.
Bernatchez is a junior at Edward Little High School, and she works part time at Kids Before/After School Program. She has participated in the Big Brother Big Sister program and volunteered at an after-school program.
Bernatchez is in her 13th year of bowling, where she recently reached the average of 165 (for girls) needed to go into the Junior Gold Scratch Tournaments. She won a spot in the national championships in Detroit, Mich., where she will compete in July.
Bernatchez is looking at colleges and wants to become a photographer. She is the daughter of Gerry and Stephanie Bernatchez of Auburn.
