NEW YORK – The curtain is rising on discount theater tickets in Brooklyn.

A new TKTS booth will open July 10 in the MetroTech Center in downtown Brooklyn, the third location in the city where theater-goers can buy tickets at discounts of up to half off.

TKTS is a project of Theatre Development Fund, a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. Other booths are located in Times Square and the South Street Seaport.

“We’re thrilled to be able to serve the residents, workforce and visitors in Brooklyn with a new TKTS booth,” said Victoria Bailey, executive director of the fund.

The new TKTS booth will offer tickets to Broadway, off-Broadway, music, dance and Brooklyn performing arts events.

The Brooklyn TKTS booth will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with tickets for same-day evening performances and next-day matinee performances.

The newly renovated Times Square TKTS Booth will reopen this summer in Duffy Square, which straddles Broadway and Seventh Avenue between West 46th Street and West 47th Street. The Times Square TKTS booth is now housed in temporarily quarters outside the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
