ALFRED (AP) – A man accused of a hit-and-run in which a woman died made a court appearance with his father, who’s also charged in the case.

Jason Brooks and his father, Gordon, were in York County Superior Court on Tuesday to face charges relating to the accident that took the life of Deborah Archer in May. Archer was walking her dogs on Route 9 in Berwick when she was struck.

Jason Brooks is charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident. Court documents say that after the accident Brooks called his father, Gordon, who picked him up in Somersworth, N.H.

Gordon Brooks is charged with hindering apprehension.

A judge ordered that Jason Brooks’ license be revoked pending a medical exam. The case is expected to go to a grand jury, at which time the charges could change.
