PORTLAND (AP) – The U.S. Marshal’s Service says a 45-year-old Old Orchard Beach man was bound with a bag over his head and had a bottle of rum forced down his throat when he was found dead in his home last month.

In a news release, the service’s eastern district of New York office gave new details about the June 20 death of Winston George, who was found in the home he shared with his wife and teenage son.

Police have charged two New York men, 44-year-old Jeffrey Williams and 47-year-old Rennie Cassimy, with murder. Williams is George’s brother-in-law, and Cassimy lived in a building in Brooklyn, N.Y., owned by George and his wife.

Maine State Police would not confirm the details and told the Portland Press Herald that the information was issued inadvertently. Police have not revealed the cause of death or a possible motive.
