DIXFIELD – Selectmen will meet with the Water Advisory Committee during their meeting on Monday to discuss a re-application for a water rate hike.
The regular twice-monthly meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Town Office.
Selectman Chairwoman Bettina Martin said Maine Rural Water representative Steve Levy had concerns about the town’s previous application for a water rate hike when it was submitted last month. She said specific accounts for using funds from a rate hike were not clear.
About a 29 percent increase is needed to cover routine operating costs and gradually replace several water lines, she said.
The board will also be updated on the replacement of a boiler for the post office. The post office leases space in the municipal building.
Bids for the project are expected to be opened during the July 28 meeting.
Also on the agenda is a closed session to meet with the town’s three office employees to discuss their concerns. The town employs two people full-time and one person half-time. Martin declined to provide details on the closed session.
